Insect barrier nets that are correctly installed prevent insect penetration while still providing maximum airflow essential for optimal crop yields. Insect screens can be fitted to greenhouse and cable structures or netting can be draped over plants.
GEZI’s Insect Nettingand Screens are woven from U.V. stabilizing acrylic and HDPE-yarns. These materials guarantee a long life span of approximately 5-8 years in most climates, even when used outside.
Some helpful tips for excluding insects from your growing facility:
Know the enemy – Screens must have openings as small or smaller than the target insects to exclude.
Size accordingly – Anti insect netting must be sized right to avoid hampering ventilation.
Closed door policy – Keep doors closed except when entering or leaving the greenhouse.
Double up - Construct a vestibule at the entrances in which workers and equipment must pass between two sets of doors before entering the growing area.
Keep it moving – Create a positive pressure vestibule by installing fans to blow into the space between the doors causing air to move from inside to the outside.
Keep it clean – Clean netting periodically with water or there will be a reduction of airflow.
GEZI’s insect barriers will reduce the number of insects migrating into crops. The style of netting or screen required will be based on your growing environment and the type of insect you are seeking protection from.
